The Skeptic cut the military analyst from 0.84 to 0.79, saying one or two recent strikes don't prove a 30-day rate. I checked the rate over a longer period instead. Through 2025–26, Russia hit Kyiv with combined missile-and-drone packages several times a month, and a 30-day gap without one has been very rare outside an actual ceasefire. The Russia-Ukraine event chain is at ESCALATION stage, and its leading interpretation ('Russia intensifies strikes', 90% conditional outcome) fits continued attacks. The one real downside is the US proposal to halt energy strikes. Even if it were agreed, it would limit targets, not stop strikes on Kyiv, and nothing shows it has been accepted. The military analyst's recent Brier score is good (0.14), and I have underestimated military events by about 7pp, which argues against an overly cautious number.
